Add a Glacier Landing to Your Flightseeing Tour
Touch down for a glacier landing at the Sheldon Amphitheater. Enjoy the stillness of the mountains broken only by the far off rumble of of distant rock and ice slides. Step out on the glacier and put your footprints in the snow. As you stand among the granite peaks, you will understand the immense scale of the mountains surrounding you.
Break away from your routine and do something extraordinary. Land on the gentle slope of the Ruth Glacier. Photograph the towering peaks that surround you. Listen to the still found in the mountains and listen for the buzz of approaching airplanes. Visitors share with us often that their glacier landing experience exceeded their expectations. They are able to capture a memory of a place that is far from routine and a time that the stillness of the mountains touched their hearts and inspired their spirits.
"I encourage you to add a glacier landing to your tour. Often guests will say they have done a glacier landing in Juneau, and I respond by saying that it does not even compare. Those who choose to go overwhelming agree with me. Landing on the gentle slope beneath Mt. McKinley, and experiencing the quiet of the mountains and the immenseness of the Alaska Range is an unparalleled experience. It is more than just a glacier landing... it is an Amphitheater where the tallness of the mountains touches the blue skies of heaven." — Suzanne Rust
